New Managing Director

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ELDORET WATER AND SANITATION COMPANY ON THE APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE COMPANY 

Mr. Peter Kibet Biwott has been appointed to the position of Managing Director at the Eldoret and Sanitation Company Ltd with immediate effect. He is the immediate former Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency.

Mr. Biwott is a Development Economist, a strategist, public policy, and advocacy specialist of long standing in both Public and Private sectors in Kenya, Africa inter alia. Mr. Biwott has also served in senior roles at institutions such as Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA), Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

Mr. Biwott holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Kenyatta University and a Master of Arts degree in International Development Studies (Economics of Development) from International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, a constituent college of Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He is a beneficiary of the prestigious Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship and the Africa Capacity Building Foundation. Mr. Biwott has further training including Strategic Leadership Management, Strategic Management and leadership, Corporate Governance, Monitoring and Evaluation, Frontiers in Development Policy and Policies for Growth.

Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company Limited (ELDOWAS) is a corporate entity established under Cap. 486 of the laws of Kenya. The County Government of Uasin Gishu is principal shareholder. In its quest to be a prosperous and attractive County in Kenya and Beyond, Uasin Gishu County aims to enhance access to clean and adequate water and sanitation services by the esteemed Residents. Mr. Biwott said ELDOWAS thus is working to contribute to the County’s and Country’s objectives including the realization of the Constitutional right to water and sanitation for all as well as agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our cardinal aim is to delight our customers all the time, become the most customer-centric company in Kenya to create better everyday lives for all through high quality, quantity water and sanitation services. We will work hard round the clock to ensure all sectors of our economy are served on timely basis putting ahead the County’s and Country’s commitment to spur manufacturing, revitalize housing, transform agriculture, and have every Kenyan access good health for a productive Country. Mr. Biwott called on the collaboration of all stakeholders in ensuring their needs are met on timely basis and unequivocally satisfied. Every citizen has a role to ensuring we create a vibrant local economy that would withstand and mitigate the effects of Covid-19 on Kenyans livelihoods.
